Paid by customers in their local currency? Then Foreign Exchange companies can assist by converting foreign receipts into domestic currency .
To make your products attractive to customers abroad they often will have to be priced in the local currency. The currency exchange rate employed has to be realistic so as to make your product attractively priced. However you also don't want it to be too far out so that you loose out if the exchange rate moves significantly against you. It can be a precarious balancing act.
Added to this you then receive foreign currency payments from your customers. Exchanging currency to sterling can be time-consuming and expensive if ill-timed. The best way of dealing with incoming currency payments depends on many factors and an FX dealer will try to help find the most cost effective method of converting dollars to GBP for example. Running UK based currency accounts can be expensive but it does allow currencies to be held until a favourable currency exchange rates, or for payments to be offset. Alternatively a currency company should be able to receive foreign currency payments by wire transfer and then transfer the sterling into a UK account at an agreed exchange rate. Foreign Exchange companies can also offer 'Forward Contract' for incoming currency payments and this allows the client to hedge against advers currency movements.
